Momentum and Meditation

Washing line of hearts
Having made a quality decision that enough was enough I decided to get myself organised and last year embarked on the journey of getting my body back to its pre-baby shape. The first few months were tough slog as my mind needed to adjust and robot mode kept me on track on many of those days. When I felt like giving up (which was many times) and even when legitimate reasons presented with why I had no time to exercise on my lounge room treadmill, I did it anyway! Like clock work, I stuck to the plan and didn’t deviate at all and the weight began to melt off me! (All 20 kilos/44 pounds).

Once at my goal weight, I slowed the exercise down to a three day a week 20 minute jog and a healthy eating plan that worked for me. In my case, low carbohydrate, high protein and plenty of vegetables and a 1500 calorie a day intake.
I am amazed that the momentum has now set in and having been in maintenance mode for four months, staying at my goal weight isn’t half as hard as loosing the weight was. In fact, there is room to move in my food intake being within my BMI and all that initial effort has paid huge dividends!

The same goes with walking in the spirit with God. When our mindset is set on God and His unfailing love for us and His goodness, it’s so much easier to maintain a healthy relationship with Him. When the obstacles in life try and derail us, we can turn the eyes of our hearts back to God and meditate on His nature and enjoy the benefits of a healthy spiritual walk.

God’s thoughts toward you are always good! And He doesn’t relate to you based upon your own efforts to please Him, but on His efforts on your behalf. Right believing leads to right behaving. When we know that God is for us and not against us and that He has made us in His image for a real and personal relationship, we can enter into rest. His finished work has set us up for success and not only that, as believers, we have received the free gift of a new nature which is one with God.

When our thoughts align with truth, we begin to walk in the spirit effortlessly. Momentum is built and encountering God becomes second nature. This is where potential and destiny are discovered and revealed- within the very heart of God and we have full access to Him.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing”.
