The Heart- the story behind the painting
This painting is called ‘the heart’.
One of the first things I wanted to do as I began writing the manuscript for ‘walking in the spirit- the supernatural life of Grace’ was to commission an artist to capture the essence of the message the book carries. Encounter- Intimacy and Rest.
I wanted to connect the heart to heart relationship available to each and every one of us~ as if you were the only person created on the face of the earth. Because the person called love has made you in His image to walk with Him-daily. Through all eternity.
To paint this intricate and profoundly beautiful message on canvas was a journey. Initially, I had the idea of the face of God pressed up close to a woman’s face. Face to face, heart to heart~ one with God. The glory of God, the tangible presence of the spirit of God, within and upon the woman being seen to the viewer. The artist and I worked together on a variety of sketches and the final decision came down to this one. To me it represents the tender heart of the Father, the place of rest, intimacy and union.
Scripture tells us that the righteous hand of God sustains us and God has you in the palm of His hand. Isaiah 49:16 reads, I have inscribed you on the palm of my hands, your walls are continually before me. The walls mean that God is constantly looking upon us and He has not forgotten us. We are the apple of His eye. His gaze is upon His beloved Bride.
There is no fear in love! Because of God’s great love for us, we can enter into His presence with fullness of joy~through the free gift. Accepted, approved and stamped with Jesus’ righteousness and not our own self-efforts. Isaiah 41:10 says, fear not, for I am with you: don’t be afraid for I am your God and I will strengthen you and I will help you, upholding you with my righteous right hand.
We can rest in the everlasting arms of Daddy God. His arms are the place where we find strength, refuge, protection and intimate union as we communicate with His heart through the precious Holy Spirit.
Rest, peace, fulfillment, contentment, encounter, intimacy, purity, refreshment and wisdom are words that describe God’s hands to me.
